About Us:
Situated in the heart of Central Illinois, Eminence Grain & Coal Co. sits among some of the finest farmland in the world. Established in 1916 by a group of local farmers, the company has served the commodity marketing, service and supply needs of several generations of farmers in this area.
By the way, although our name might indicate that we handle coal, but we no longer do so. We do have folks ask about this occasionally.
In August of 2023 we surrendered our State of Illinois and Federal Warehouse and Grain Dealers Licenses. This was necessary as it was no longer possible for us to obtain insurance coverage on our concrete grain storage buildings. The Eminence Grain and Coal Co. corporation remains, under the same management and ownership. However, the operation changed from a commercial grain elevator to a business that leases bin space, grain conveying and drying services to a limited number of landowners and farmers.
